Orientation for 1st-5th grade students on Tracks 3 and 4 will be held at Salem Elementary on May 20th from 7pm to 8 pm.  Families who were unable to attend orientation for Tracks 1 and 2 on May 6th are welcome to attend this session. 
 
Orientation for kindergarten families on all tracks will be held at Salem May 27th from 7pm to 8 pm. 

Students voted at assemblies held at each of the eight schools sending students to Laurel Park.  Year-round students who were tracked out when the assemblies were held at their schools received ballots and stamped return envelopes in the mail.  Rising kindergarteners voted by e-mail.  Our students have spoken!  WE ARE THE LAUREL PARK PENGUINS!! 

Track change letters are in the mail.  We have made as many changes as we can at this time.  If we are able to make additional changes between now and July 7, we will do so.  Thank you for your patience and support! 

Meetings will be held at SALEM ELEMENTARY at 7 pm on the following dates:
May 6th:  1st-5th Grades  Tracks 1 & 2
May 20th:  1st-5th Grades  Tracks 3 & 4
May 27th:  Kindergarten  Tracks 1, 2, 3, 4  (Parents will sign rising kindergarten students up for staggered entry at this meeting.) 

Letters in response to track change requests will be mailed April 17th.

In April, Mrs. Turner will visit each of the eight schools sending students to Laurel Park.  At those meetings, the students will have the opportunity to vote for a mascot.  The three choices are Laurel Park Lemurs (yellow, white, black), Laurel Park Polar Bears (red, white, blue), and Laurel Park Penguins (red, white, black).  Rising kindergarten students can vote by e-mail to laurelparkes@wcpss.net.
